Welcome!

Welcome!

Hello and welcome to Meghan Markle Review! This blog is a sister site to my other blog, Kate Middleton Review. I am interested in chatting about Meghan Markle – actress, philanthropist, and Prince Harry‘s girlfriend – but think KMR is not the place for it, so I’ve decided to move all my coverage of Meghan over to it’s own site. I will most likely cover Harry over here as well. This blog will only cover Harry and Meghan and their family if they do get married, which is looking more and more like a possibility.

I will admit I had no idea who Meghan was before it was revealed that she is dating Harry, but as things progress and it’s looking more and more like they will get married at some point in the next couple of years, I am interested in following her and talking about her. I still don’t know a lot about Meghan and don’t have a fully formed opinion on her so I’m looking forward to developing one.

Before now, I wasn’t really interested in Meghan because what little I did know about her didn’t interest me – I’m not into the whole lifestyle blog thing (no shade at her for writing it and no shade at anyone who enjoys them, they just aren’t my thing), I’ve never seen Suits, and I’m not into the vacation Instagram thing (again, no shade, it’s just not my thing). But as I’ve been reading some of her articles and speeches about gender equality, I’ve become more interested.

As far as creating a blog about Meghan while she and Harry are still just dating, I think it’s fine since she is already a public person due to her acting career and her activism. I think it’s fine to comment on her past writings and past speeches, because she put them out for public consumption. I also I think it’s fine to comment on her fashion since she was already a public person putting her fashion out for public consumption by attending red carpet events and other promotional events.

For the most part, while we’re waiting for an engagement, I’m mostly going to be going over some of her old writings and speeches about her charity work and activism because that’s what interests me right now about Meghan, but I will write about any sightings, too. And if there is any news about her and Harry then I’ll cover that as well.

This site will not be a “love” site nor will it be a “hate” site: I will be both positive and negative here. I want to give Meghan the same “new royal” benefit of the doubt I gave Kate Middleton and Princess Sofia (even though Meghan isn’t a royal or a royal fiance yet, but you know what I mean). However, I’m just a person who likes following the royals and wants to comment on them, and sometimes those comments are positive and sometimes those comments are negative. For instance, even for the royals I love and give a lot of passes to (like Princess Madeleine), if I dislike their outfit then I’ll say that I dislike their outfit. If you cannot stand Harry or Meghan being negatively criticized, then this is not the place for you. If you cannot stand Harry or Meghan being praised, then this is not the place for you.

I welcome all types of opinions on here – diverse opinions make for good discussions – but please be respectful when commenting. People have different opinions, but there is no need to attack anyone for having a different opinion than you. By all means discuss the opinion, but do so respectfully and don’t insult others. That goes for me as well; if you disagree with something I’ve said, please say so politely and we can discuss it. You can read the full comment policy here.

I’m not sure where this blog is going to go, especially since we don’t know for sure if Meghan will join the British Royal Family, so for now I’m keeping my Kate Middleton Review social media accounts and will post updates about Harry and Meghan on there as I did before I made this site. I am on Twitter and Facebook. I am also not making a new email account, so if you have any questions, comments, or concerns you can email me at katemiddletonreview@gmail.com.

I’m looking forward to following along Harry and Meghan on their royal journey, so come along and let’s have fun!

PS. My Subscribe to Blog and Subscribe to Comments email subscriptions are not currently functioning for all email providers. Gmail receives emails, but Yahoo Mail and Mail.com do not. Go here for a full explanation.

  1. Hi MMR – I’m interested to see where Meghan and Harry end up – if they are happy together and see their lives going along the same path then I imagine the relationship will be formalised – if only because of who Harry is and his desire to have children. I don’t have an opinion on Meghan one way or another at this point. I’ve never seen Suits – although I think it is now avaiable in Australia via streaming or pay TV. While I wouldn’t wear most of her clothing choices (age and middle age spread dictates a different style !) I think she generally looks well put together. In a different era her being divorced would be an issue – but Charles and Anne are divorced and remarried, and Camilla as well – so I doubt that makes her “unsuitable”. She has been an advocate for causes that are important to her long befoe Harry was on the radar, and she speaks and presents well in public. All in all I suspect she will step up to the mark well as “Duchess of xxx” straight out of the gates and prove to be an asset to the Royal Family in the mode of Sophie. I sense she is the polar opposite to Waity.

  2. Ah, but how do we know that she was having such opinions long before Harry was on her radar screen? She might be a very ambitious woman who set her sights on Harry years and years ago, but unlike Kate, made a life for herself first!

Good news about this blog, KMR/MMR. You are one busy woman! Congrats and good luck!
