Meghan Markle Prince Harry

E Online can’t make up it’s mind about Harry & Meghan’s travel schedules

E Online has a new article about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle which claims that Harry flew to Toronto right after Trooping the Color on June 17 to spend time with her before flying to Malawi to work with elephants. But then the same article says that’s not true and that Meghan flew out on Sunday, June 25, to spend time with Harry in London… even though he’s not due back in London until Tuesday. What?

“It’s no secret that Prince Harry treats Meghan Markle like a princess. Multiple sources tell E! News exclusively that the 32-year-old prince flew out to Toronto June 17 to visit his 35-year-old girlfriend, who had been busy shooting the seventh season of USA’s hit legal series Suits. ‘They hadn’t been together for a while, so it was exciting for both to see each other,’ one of the sources says. ‘Harry had planned to fly out this time as he felt it was unfair for Meghan to always be the one flying around, and she’d just come back from the U.S.’

“Less than a week earlier, Meghan joined her co-stars, including Patrick J. Adams and Gabriel Macht, for a script reading to commemorate their 100th episode at the ATX Television Festival. She returned to Toronto afterward, and Harry joined her soon after. According to the source, they ‘relaxed’ at home, ‘cooking meals together and eating outside in the garden a lot. It’s Meghan’s favorite ‘room’ in the house. She calls it a room because it’s the perfect patio space.’

“Harry and Meghan wanted to fly under the radar, though they did occasionally pop out to ‘a couple of favorite spots where people don’t immediately run to the press to say they’re there,’ the source tells E! News. One of those places is the home of two close friends, whom the pair visited over the weekend. ‘Harry and Meghan spent time at Meghan’s friend’s home, who are now Harry’s friends, too. Harry loves being part of her world in Toronto,’ the source says. ‘It’s nice getting away from London every now and then—although they both love London, too.’ (Harry last visited Meghan in Toronto just before Easter.)

“In fact, a second insider says Meghan is prepared to move to the U.K. to be closer to Harry. The couple is ‘in an extremely solid and happy place at the moment,’ the insider adds. ‘They aren’t rushing ahead at a ridiculous speed or making rash decisions. But, yes, they love each other very much and neither could imagine being without the other. They speak about the future a lot, whether it’s getting each other’s take on future career plans or where they’ll be as a couple. They talk about living in London—Meghan really sees herself moving, and he really wants that.’

“Harry’s trip was a brief one, as he traveled to Malawi June 20. He is camping out in Liwonde National Park, where he’s assisting with the elephants, and should return to London Tuesday. (Another insider denies Harry flew to Toronto to see Meghan after attending Trooping the Colour, insisting that he ‘hasn’t been to Toronto in a month’ and was ‘100 percent’ in Africa.) The couple will be reunited sooner than later.

“Meghan was photographed flying out of Toronto late Sunday night. ‘She looked happy and pleased to be greeted by airport personnel,’ says a source at the airport, who adds that the actress didn’t mention her boyfriend by name. ‘She carried her one bag and was accompanied by private security from the car to the gate.’ Meghan arrived in London early Monday morning and is staying at Kensington Palace. And though the main reason for her trip is to spend time with Harry, a source says she has ‘other work’ to attend to while she’s visiting the U.K. ‘Harry and Meghan have deep conversations,’ a source close to Meghan says. ‘Harry really has grown up from his wild days, and this is the first relationship he feels like there is a possible future.’ […]

“Harry and Meghan are in a ‘solid, strong place’ at the moment and are ‘very future focused,’ the insider tells E! News. ‘They talk about their future plans together all the time. There’s no doubt that he won’t propose before the year is out and it won’t come as a surprise to Meghan.'”

“There’s no doubt that he won’t propose before the year is out” – So Harry will not propose to Meghan in 2017. That’s what that sentence says, although I’m not sure whoever wrote/said it understands how negatives work.

Just like that end sentence, this whole article is contradictory. They claim Harry flew to Toronto before flying to Malawi, but then claim he did not. They claim Meghan flew to London and is staying at KP to spend time with Harry but then claim Harry is still in Malawi. They claim Harry and Meghan don’t want people running to the press as soon as they go to dinner, but Harry and Meghan are fine with their “friends” and “sources” running to the press with all this detail? All very contradictory.

Anyway, there are new photos of Meghan at an airport, which I assume are from Sunday, June 25, although it’s not specified. Meghan is dressed down in jeans, a sweater, a ballcap, and glasses. This isn’t shade specifically at Meghan, but whenever I see someone with thick, black-rimmed glasses I always wonder if the glasses are real and the person actually wears glasses or if they are fake because glasses with thick, black rims has become a fashion trend where people who don’t actually need glasses wear the black-rimmed ones anyway.

  1. It seemed that the truth is somewhere in there… sources were contradicting each other… so some if not non of it may be true… I honthink she went there for promotional work.

  2. Bleh this whole article is contradictory to itself, so the only thing I believe is that she was in Austin and he’s in Africa.
And if she’s staying at KP, is she just chilaxin at Harry’s place sans Harry?
What I really want to know is at what level of stardom do you have to be to get airport personnel to greet you? Becuase it looked like pippa had someone greet her and walk her thru and I wouldn’t rate her as someone who gets airport favoritism-says a disgruntled traveler

  3. Just wondering, if Meghan were to come and live in the UK, wouldn’t she need a visa ?
Any British people to enlighten us on this matter ?

    1. As an American citizen she could live in U.K up 6 months with no visa… but umm, if she were to move there permanently, I think they know people, who know people that can get her a quick permanent residence status. Visa etc is an non issue.

  4. As a former travel agent, I can let you all know you can be escorted even if not a celebrity, sports star, musician, royal, or politician. You just pay, and let the travel agency use their connections. Then you too can sit in the club, have your luggage transported around, and enter or exit the plane with priority.

Funny story though is I once travelled overseas as a tour guide and I had a club pass and VIP treatment through my agency. I found it terribly dull to sit in a posh room with fancy drinks and snacks. I’m the type that loves to walk aimlessly around big airports before a long flight to get some exercise and visual interest. A treadmill is my idea of the dictionary definition of boredom.

Plus, I am so used to handling my own things the staff attention made me feel strange and awkward. And, I don’t follow the latest in entertainment (The royals are my only “celebs” because I have an interest in their travels, charity work, and how they try to represent their country’s culture and people) so have no idea if that fancy room had anyone of cultural interest. Needless to say, I’d turn down the VIP treatment if offered again.

Meghan thankfully travels comfortably. Too many with the VIP passes try to wear stilettos and regret it.

    1. I can second this. There was a time in my life where I was flying multiple times a week and the agency that booked my tickets would arrange for me to be met at the curb/gate if I needed help with luggage or had a tight connection. It was not something I paid extra for, but rather a combo of me being a ridiculously frequent flyer and my travel agent being superb.

    2. Thanks for the information. I didn’t know there were still travel agents out there!
Ha I differ from you I that I have the united club pass and love it! I essentially got it for the free-that I already paid for-wifi and cokes but now love the peace and quiet usually there

  5. Wow, Meghan’s looking a wee bit rough. If the article meant to confuse it did a good job.

So, she may move to the UK? For why? Put an engagement ring on it before you do *anything*; you don’t want to end up ‘waitying’.

I’d say she’s wearing fake pretentious specs. I always check to see if there is some distortion behind the lense which means they’re real. In her case, it’s like looking through a window, so yes, fake.

    1. I can not even with this word salad article.

I agree that the glasses look fake… the lenses look very thin, and they’re so large that I agree we would be able to see some distortion. Maybe she’s wearing them as part of her *disguise* (insert eye roll here).

      1. Yeah, she’s dressed down, but I don’t think that means she’s looking rough. She’s just dressed down for a flight.

        1. Full disclosure: I dislike ripped and tattered jeans. I suppose some ventilation is helpful in the summer. 🙂

          1. I dislike ripped jeans as well. Especially fake ripped jeans (where you buy them already ripped).

  6. This comment from a commentor on celebitchy sums up this situation succinctly because talk of MM and engagements is being used to distract from the fallout of that original newsweek article

E! News (which is the link I was taken to) is owned by NBC, which also opens the network that airs Suits, USA Network. My friend who works there says execs absolutely see Markle as their property, entertainment wise, as all stars are expected to cooperate across platforms. That said, there’s nothing wrong with Meghan or whoever planting this and planting it doesn’t make it not true. It’s pretty clear that Meghan and Harry are working together on their PR.

What is mind-boggling is how utterly incompetent KP is. If you need not one, not two, but three articles to convince people that no, it’s not that you’re entitled or tone deaf, it’s that what you really meant is well, oh never mind because I just flew to another country for about 48 hours to see my girl and then on to another continent to go on safari, and see guys?

    SHUT UP.

And p.s. Your mother didn’t take you to see homeless people so you’d know what “normal life” is. She took you so you’d see how PRIVILEGED you are. It didn’t work.

  7. As a longtime glasses/contact lenses wearer, I hate when people who don’t need glasses wear them as an accessory. Not saying Meghan is doing this here, it is just a pet peeve of mine. I guess all those years of getting picked on for having glasses made me bitter. Also, mine are blacked rimmed and large, but you can totally tell they are real because of the thickness of the lenses. I like the larger lenses because they hit my cheeks, which allows me to actually see the stairs when I’m walking down stairs.

    1. I agree with you. People wearing glasses when they don’t actually need them is also a pet peeve of mine, as someone who’s worn glasses/contacts for years and whose prescription is really high. I don’t think my pet peeve comes from being picked on but I do get annoyed when people don’t need them because I’m thinking “These aren’t a fashion accessory, I’m legally blind without these”.

      1. The faux blind! I’m with you, KMR, as a fellow Ms Magoo. People wear large non-prescription black-framed specs to make them look intelligent; it’s long been the case.

        1. I’m very near sighted too (20/200 both eyes) but her eyeglasses affectation doesn’t bug me too much. I find her “methody” actress approach to this entire Harry dating thing slightly humerous. Wellies on High Street, dogs wearing a sweater emblazoned with the Union Jack, casually clutching an open copy of the Economist while being photographed at the airport–she is trying a little to hard to be acceptable and appropriate to Harry and his fellow Brits.

          1. Agree. It’s been a bit commercial and cringe-y so far. Imo, of course. I’m just so on the fence with this woman!! I guess I don’t know enough about her but I do think she wants to be a part of the BRF. Why still “getting to know” Harry if not? Some days I really like her and others she’s just too coy for words. I don’t know. Reserving my opinion for now

        2. I am super blind as well and that is also a pet peeve of mine. I have always had to wear real glasses with a strong prescription or contacts. However, it is possible that Meghan is reaching an age where she needs to wear a light prescription for distance. Mid 30s is when the perfect vision people start to have issues with distance vision.

  8. I love the fact that she knows people are watching her but she still does normal things, carries her own luggage and wears normal clothes.

  9. I like Meghan’s travel style, comfy and warm for a long flight! And wow, just one bag! I need to find out how she does that! Since I have started a Minimalist lifestyle I’m looking forward to seeing how packing will go for my next trip.

  10. Well, now come on. She can surely buy plenty of new pretty things when she lands! Who cares about her, anyway? I’m sick to death of all the hype. This coming from someone who was really intrigued with her when the news of her relationship with Harry broke. I am jaded enough to think she is cold and caluculating, but as an actress, she can put on a great show. I think she studied Diana and set out to be the newer version of the Princess and Harry has fallen for her like a ton of bricks.

      1. Kris, There are rumors that a show is in the works profiling Meg with interviews by her friends and family. It sounds farfetched to me, but who knows.
