Meghan spotted out in Toronto

Hey new Meghan pics! Meghan Markle was spotted by the paparazzi in Toronto on September 24.

The Daily Mail has photos of Meghan stepping out of her “chauffeur-driven luxury SUV” to go into her home on September 24, the day after she attended the opening ceremony of the Invictus Games.

Meghan is seen wearing an Erdem Sebla red and white dress (originally sold at $1,870), and the Sarah Flint Natalie flats she wore to wheelchair tennis (which would have taken place the day after these new photos were taken). Meghan is also seen carrying what looks like a plastic bag of take out food.

Anyone who reads my other blog knows how much I despise Erdem, so it will come as no shock that I hate this dress. I’m a bit disappointed that Meghan seems to love Erdem so much, since it’s a brand I can’t stand. Sigh, oh well.

To round out this post, E News has more info (sources and insiders *Jessica Mulroney*, oh my!) on Harry and Meghan’s relationship, and Harry and Meghan’s mom’s relationship:

“‘This week wasn’t the first time that Harry met Doria,’ says a close source. ‘They actually met late last year so they’re very close now. Doria sees Harry as one of the family and he sees her like family too. Harry is has become close with all of Meghan’s closest friends – Markus [Anderson], the Mulroneys, these are people who have welcomed him with warm and open arms and he’s really felt the love and protection.’ The insider continues, ‘When Meghan and Harry first began dating everyone did their best to help keep it a secret. The people Harry is surrounding himself with have already earned their trust.’

“The source also says that Harry, Meghan, Doria had dinner at Jessica and Ben Mulroney’s house on Thursday evening last week. ‘With Ben and Jessica they all became friends very early on,’ the insider says. ‘When Harry first started going to Toronto to visit Meghan, it was Ben and Jessica who had them over at their house for dinners because it wasn’t easy for them to go out in public without the risk of getting spotted. Harry’s become close with their children Brian, John and Ivy. Ivy especially is a big fan. She, of course, has no idea that he’s a prince though – he’s just auntie Meghan’s special friend Harry, who sometimes comes over with fun presents!’

“And it sounds like Harry had a great time with everyone in Toronto this past week. ‘Toronto was an amazing experience for Harry,’ a source close to Harry says. ‘Everything to do with Invictus went according to plan and without hiccups. An uplifting and positive week spent doing what he loves most surrounded by good friends and the most important woman in his life.’ The source continues, ‘While it was always discussed prior that Meghan would attend the games in some capacity, how it was going to play out was very much left for feeling out at the time. The day Harry walked through the village to Wheelchair Tennis in front of the photographers was pretty much spur of the moment. He was just in a great mood and they kind of looked at each other before like, ‘Shall we just get this over with?’ In a way they wish they didn’t leave it for so long because after that initial moment was gone, it suddenly felt very easy to be out there as a couple with people looking at them, photos being taken, etc.’

“And close pals are already planning their wedding outfits! ‘Harry left Toronto yesterday on a high and can’t wait to see Meghan next,’ another source reveals. ‘She has a packed schedule between now and November with Suits, but after that will be an exciting time for them and a new chapter in their relationship.” The insider adds, ‘While Meghan may not be wearing a ring or a formal engagement announced, it’s fair to say they’re as good as engaged now. They’ve spoken about their marriage plans openly with each other and friends and family around them are pretty much thinking about wedding attire already!’

  1. Oh please – thanks for this MMR – just another example of vapid people with too little to think about – “wedding attire” – really ? The whole thing just looks like a B grade at best show that won’t even go to Cable

  2. If this is Jessica’s best effort to keep secrets, she’s pretty terrible at it. Now that its announced that Ben and Jessica’s place is Meghan’s go-to destination, expect lots of press there. What an inconvenience for their children. In promoting her friend, Jessica is doing them a disservice. Meghan doesn’t need promotion for this relationship – it looks pretty solid, without any help from the PR machine.

    1. The gushing article listing the children’s names and feelings about Harry seemed odd.

    2. Reminds me of Kate’s friend Jessica Hay who’d blather to the press, and turn out she was right (about Kate’s pregnancy, etc). Super attention whorey on the part of Meghan’s friends who want to be relevant, probably, and use Harry for it. Look at meeee I’m in the tabloids wheeee I’m faaaamous! lol

I like the color but most Erdem dresses are heinously fugly.

  3. I wonder if this is the dress mentioned in the Vanity Fair article? I like this dress, except for the ruffled neckline. Oh dear, I hope Meghan doesn’t wear Erdem for the wedding! πŸ˜’

  4. Strangely, I don’t mind this dress, even though I don’t usually like Erdem designs. I like the length and the (apparent) wrap-around styling. And, definitely the color looks great on Sparkles.

Can I also say that I LOVE that she wears flats?! I hate the idea that somehow if a woman is sophisticated or well-dressed, that it automatically means high heels! I hope she ditches the Erdems…but keeps her collection of cute flats. There are so many times Kate has worn heels (and those horrible wedges) when nice flats, loafers, sandals, etc would have looked so much nicer and more appropriate. So, anyway, I’m glad to see Meghan wearing a wider variety of shoes and really hope she keeps this up after the wedding (I wasn’t a fan of the nude heels she wore to the opening and closing ceremonies…drop the nude heels and step away!).

p.s. soooo…does anyone else think this is the morning after having spent the night with Harry in that fancy schmancy suite?! I do πŸ™‚ I’m guessing she came home to check on her dogs? Maybe pick up her ‘husband’ shirt for the tennis match? Hee! Man, I cannot wait for the engagement announcement. I hope it comes soon or my head might explode from suppressed excitement.

    1. I agree that at some events I think flats might have been more appropriate for the event but some women (me) actually love wearing high heels! Given the choice between flats and heels, I’ll always choose the heels. So I don’t fault Kate her love of heels, just her love of those awful wedges! =)

      1. I’m a devoted flats wearer and have amassed a bunch of cute flats to go with my outfits. Then I put in insoles to pad my ankles as I have an injury from before My feet and calves will thank me in my old age.

  5. 1.) I like the dress.

    2.) I like the shoes.

3.) I don’t like how the press has taken these invasive pictures of her. I say invasive because they’re blurry as heck and she’s obviously trying to just go about her business. Sigh….

P.S. US Weekly has a new article stating that M & H are already engaged. Here is the article:

    http://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-news/news/are-prince-harry-and-meghan-markle-already-engaged-w506791

I’m meh about the story but agree that they’re probably already engaged and are waiting for Meghan’s schedule to be clear (and to actually be moved into the UK), before announcing it.

    1. Hi Kimothy

      Like you… I

And I really don’t like how DM are trying to imply she is cheap by having that bag of food… “is it a doggy bag”? Good Grief! From the time I’ve spent in the US, in Colorado, I found that anything left on your plate was automatically put into a doggy bag and given to you when you leave. I did find the meal sizes huge, but then I was being taken to dinner by a football player and he took me to places where he liked the food – football player size meals should have been expected? But anyway, the first time I said “no thank you” to the doggy bag? The server looked like he was going to cry so I took them after that. It could be that if that bag was a doggy bag then Meghan was doing the same thing as me? Taking the food to make the server happy. And that would make the DM story petty imo.

      1. What I’ve found is that waiters do tend to look at you a bit funny if you say you don’t want to take your left overs home (usually they’ll ask if you didn’t like it), but they alaways ask and don’t just box up the stuff without your consent.

        1. I’ve lived in Colorado for quite a long time and they automatically ask if you would like a box and would you like them to do it or them. I’ve eaten nearly everywhere in this state because of work. πŸ™‚

        2. Hi Kimothy and Cathy,

I am a little late to the party. However I like this dress Meghan is wearing. It does suit her well.

I don’t see the problem taking food back in a bag. It would have to be food I would want to eat and if I wanted to save myself cooking.

      2. I love taking home leftovers!! In fact I often eat only half of my meal in the restaurant just so I can take the rest home πŸ™‚ then I can get out of cooking for another night :):)

      3. I despise wasting food more than just about anything else, so we always take our leftovers home and eat them for lunch or dinner the next day. Sometimes breakfast because I’m still a college student in my head and cold Chinese is a perfectly acceptable breakfast.

      4. @Cathy, the DM is notorious for that. The other day they were going on and on about how Meghan’s mother is a descendant of slaves and grew up in a ghetto, as if being a black person is something to be ashamed of. Doria was compared to mrs. Carol Middleton and there was quite a bit of stuff written in there. The implication (IMO) was comparison in class, Doria was low class while Mrs. Middleton was the one whose daughter was fit to date a prince. The doggy food is like 3rd article in a row (since the Invictus closed) in which DM is laying it on thick with their social/racial overtones and innuendo.

  6. I agree about Erdem! Don’t get why so many celebs/royals seems to love this brand so much. This dress isn’t as hideous as some of their others but still not loving it. I said it before that I hoped Meghan would bring the fashion game to the BRF (assuming they are engaged) since I find Kate’s style usually blah but if Meghan continues to love Erdem, I don’t see that happening =(
I’m surprised they haven’t put the kibosh on Jessica and her loose lips. Which tells me that they are okay/sanctioned leaks

  7. Yay #TeamFlats! I love heels but my feet and legs ate paying for it now and I only wear flats, while only being able to walk or stand for 15 minutes at a time. All those years of wearing heels did a number on me. I still don’t know if it was worth it or not. In re the dress… Meh. I liked it until I saw the full bodice. If it had been open at the neck I would’ve given it a solid A.

Anyway, I wish that private citizens’ children’s names wouldn’t make it into these articles regardless of who the source is. But it’s the DM so I’m not surprised.

        1. Considering I think it was Jessica who provided the quotes with his children’s names in them, I think it’s more than possible Jessica is totally fine with her kids’ names being out there. Also, as far as I am aware, she posts her children’s names and photos on social media, so if nothing else the names were already out there in the public sphere.

  8. Ok, so I have a tiny rant to go on (my bags are all packed and ready to go πŸ™‚ ). I’ve noticed that when Meghan walks, she has a tendency to put her head down and stare at the ground, which drives me crazy!! She did this in photos of her and Harry in London (twice) and again at the Games. Now, I understand that sometimes you do need to look down and see where your stepping or to make sure that the ground is even, but it’s not really necessary to do all the time. I hope this is just a “habit” that she has and once she sees photos she’ll stop. I have a couple of friends that do this, look down and plow forward, and several times I’ve had to stop them and tell them to look up (one almost walked into a pole). Plus, it just makes for bad posture and we all know how I feel about posture! πŸ™‚

    Ok, rant over! Phew!!

    1. Maybe she’s looking down so as not to fully acknowledge the photographers. **shrugs shoulders**
I don’t think she’s necessarily doing it to be aloof or accidently walk into something but so as not to draw additional attention onto herself (and distract/harm others on the street) while she’s out and about.

      1. I agree Kimothy, I don’t think she doing it to be aloof. I just think it’s a bad habit she’s gotten into. As I said above, I know several people who do this and see it all the time when I’m out and about. I even catch myself doing it on occasion and ugh, just kick myself when I do πŸ™‚

        1. I tend to do the same thing. It started because I didn’t want to step on gum, but now it’s a bad habit that I catch myself doing quite often.

      2. Lauri, that’s the Toronto winter time style of walking, head down and Plowing ahead against the bitter cold wind. Unfortunately, that habit is a little harder to break in the summer time, lol πŸ˜‚

        1. Lol, I hadn’t thought of that Red Tulip! I guess here is sunny Cali, it’s the head down out of the bright sun πŸ™‚

        2. I do that too. I think it really is hard to get out of . I don’t want to step in something or just out of habit since I was little. I have a photo of myself that my dad took doing the exact same thing.

  9. Well Meghan has to make sure that she gets Harry on the lock right now- no better opportunity for publicity or a career high is coming her way as I have said before. As for Harry, because of his high profile, it’ll be harder for him to get a woman who is not only good looking but is educated and has a career of her own- many women wouldn’t want to sign up for the life of publicity and press intrusion, especially if they have the freedom of pursuing their own career and interests. So He willl want to hold on tight To Meghan, who already has a showbiz career and is comfortable with media attention. What I’m saying is, they both get each other on the lock as soon as possible, so wouldn’t surprise me if thy are engaged already.

    1. This article made me laugh… since when has a VW Golf been considered a “flash car” or luxury anything?

    1. I kinda doubt it unless their engagement is announced by then. But I imagine that they’ll meet up either in Chicago or Harry will detour to Toronto. How lovely that Harry and the Obama’s are keeping in touch and supporting each others good works.

      1. I definitely think she should head to Chicago and have a private meeting with the Obamas and then they fly to Toronto.

        1. This is where I’m putting my money. I’m sure Harry will love to introduce Meghan to the Obamas and I’m pretty sure Meghan and Michelle will hit it off and get along quite nicely.

    2. Too political for Harry IMO.

The money raised by this foundation goes to Democratic Party Super PACs. Not bright.

And people pay to go see Harry speak. So. Not good IMO.

  10. DM just can’t help themselves; apparently H&M want to move to the countryside like W&K did.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4978890/Prince-Harry-Meghan-Markle-house-hunting-Cotswolds.html

He has friends and relatives dotted across the Cotswolds, an area estate agents dub the ‘Royal Triangle’.
Cousin Zara, her rugby-player husband Mike Tindall and their daughter Mia, three, live six miles from Highgrove in a cottage at Gatcombe Park, Princess Anne’s country estate.
The Beckham brood, of whom the Prince is very fond, have been renovating a Β£5 million plot on the 4,000-acre Great Tew Estate in Chipping Norton since 2015.
Palace insiders say it’s this tight-knit circle of friends that has prompted the couple to focus their search on the Cotswolds rather than Norfolk, where William and Kate rule the roost at Anmer Hall, a grand Georgian pile boasting a swimming pool and tennis court.
‘They don’t want to be second-runners to Kate and William,’ one source says.
Locals have spotted the Prince β€” without his girlfriend β€” discreetly checking out several Cotswolds hotspots in recent months.
The blacked-out Range Rovers driven by royal protection officers have been spotted navigating the country lanes around Cirencester and Stow-on-the-Wold, while Harry has apparently been sipping pints of bitter in low-key village pubs.

    1. *I accidentally didn’t respond to you so I’m posting it again to make sure you see my comment.

Negative Ellie, you really need to do some research. Harry is also going to be promoting Full Effect.

The Obama Foundation is a non-profit so you’ll be able to see all of their finances as well.
