Harry & Meghan attend Commonwealth Day

Harry & Meghan attend Commonwealth Day

Prince Harry and The Duchess of Sussex attended, potentially, their last official engagement as members of the Royal Family yesterday, March 9, when they joined The Queen for the Commonwealth Day Service at Westminster Abbey.

Harry and Meghan arrived ahead of HM and took their seats – they sat next to the Wessexes. They did not partake in the procession like they did the last two years (neither did the Cambridges).

The service, which is an inter-faith gathering that celebrates the people and cultures of the 54 Commonwealth nations, was conducted by the Dean of Westminster, David Hoyle, and included performances by: singers Alexandra Burke and Craig David; African drumming group One-Drum; and south London-based steel orchestra, Melodians.

After the service, Meghan spoke with British boxer Anthony Joshua, who gave a reading, before being given a posie outside the church by Lily, 14, from Children’s Hospital School Leicester.

Meghan wore a bright green Emilia Wickstead dress which is a great color on her. The only drawback is that the cape looks like it’s strangling her in certain shots. But otherwise, gorgeous. My favorite look from this last round of engagements.

Meghan’s earrings are from Maison Birks – the “Snowstorm Diamond Earrings in White Gold” ($12,000.00) which Meghan debuted in 2018.

Meghan matched her hat to her dress, wearing a new hat from William Chambers from the SS20 collection. Meghan carried a Gabriela Hearst “Demi Bag Satin” in Emerald ($2,150) which she’s had since 2018. Her shoes are new and from Aquazzura – the “Purist Pump 105” in Nude ($695).

A closeup of Meghan’s makeup. She went with a blue eye look to complement the green outfit, which I think looks very pretty.

Harry wore a blue suit with a blue tie, because the Windsors love a good blue moment, but he did match the lining of his suit jacket to Meghan’s green dress, which is an interesting touch. I would have simply gone with a green tie, but you do you, Harry.

A housekeeping item: Meghan did some appearances last week I haven’t covered yet, which I will cover later this week.

The above video shows the inside arrivals and departures. The below video shows the outside departures.

FYI, this engagement was listed in the CC as HM’s office listed them as part of the event.
