Meghan stuns in red for Mountbatten Festival of Music

Prince Harry and The Duchess of Sussex pulled out all the stops for the Mountbatten Festival of Music tonight, March 7, with Meghan coordinating Harry’s red uniform with a red gown.

Harry and Meghan were at the Royal Albert Hall for the Mountbatten Festival of Music where the Massed Bands of Her Majesty’s Royal Marines performed various musical styles. Proceeds from the show go to The Royal Marines Charity and CLIC Sargent.

Harry was there as Captain General of the Royal Marines. Harry wore his red Royal Marines uniform and his service medals – QEII Golden Jubilee Medal, Operational Service Medal for Afghanistan, QEII Diamond Jubilee Medal – as well as the neck badge, chest ribbon, and star of the Royal Victorian Order (of which Harry is Knight Commander), and the aiguillette (gold braided cord) of an aide-de-camp (Harry is aide-de-camp to HM).

Harry and Meghan met with the performers backstage during the interval of the show. Harry also wrote the foreword to the program.

Meghan wore a striking red ensemble for the performance. Meghan chose a new Safiyaa “Kalika Long Dress” ($1,693), which is described as having a raised collar “with shoulder cape and back drape detail in Scarlet Red heavy crepe.” It’s very pretty.

Meghan accessorized with red as well – choosing red Aquazzura pumps, a new Manolo Blahnik “Capri Red Satin Jewel Buckle Clutch” ($1,670), and new Simone Rocha “Floral beaded drop earrings” (£250).

As a side note, it blows my mind that a gown and a clutch can be the same amount of money, but designer labels price gouge the crap out of their pieces.

Another shot of Meghan from the side to see the cape. I do think she looks very nice here (her hair is so long!).
