The Duke and Duchess of Sussex joined other members of the British Royal Family for the annual Festival of Remembrance this evening, November 9, at the Royal Albert Hall. This is the second year Harry and Meghan have attended the Festival.

The Royal British Legion has put on the Festival of Remembrance since 1923, two years after they were established in 1921, as a thank you to the men and women who served their country in the armed forces.

The Festival always includes armed forces bands, and this year those who performed included: The Massed Bands of the Household Division, the Countess of Wessex’s String Orchestra, the Band of HM Royal Marines, and the Central Band of the Royal Air Force. The celebrity performers this year were James Blunt, Leona Lewis and Jeff Goldblum.

As this year marks the 75th anniversary of the battles of 1944, there were unique tributes to the battles of Monte Cassino, Kohima, Imphal and D-Day, culminating in a parade of the last surviving veterans who fought and served during that year.

Meghan wore a bespoke black Erdem dress, Aquazzura bow pumps, and new ruby earrings by Jessica McCormack. And, of course, Meghan wore a poppy on her left shoulder. Ids credit to UFO No More.
